Parts of the University Forest in the Hassfurter area

We did some exploratory field work in the university owned research forest. Huge areas of forest, meadows and some agricultural areas are managed by the university and can be used for scientific experiments. We are planning to conduct several remote sensing field campaigns and already compiled existing remote sensing data for this study area. Moreover, we are aiming to have hyperspectral, LiDAR and UAV imagery in the near future.

The colleagues from the biology department (Prof. Jörg Müller) are already working in this area and are setting up field plots for ecological research. We are very much looking forward to further collaborations with Jörg Müller and the head of the university forest, Hans Stark.

More news about these study sites will follow, especially with our EAGLE students and courses in the summer term.
